After school I enrolled into Singapore Polytechnic and completed the Diploma in Nautical Studies in 1987. From 1988 to 1990, I served my National Service in the Singapore Police Force in the Police Logistics Department as a Staff officer in charge of Logistical Technical Matters. Mainly in Transportation, Armament, Communication. Sailed as a 2nd Officer from 1990 to 1991 with NOL. From 1991 I started work with IMCO Marititme Surveyors. Moved to DCT Inspection Services in 1993 and set up International Marine Surveyors with 3 partners in 1994. From 1996, I took over the helm of the partnership and turned the company into International Marine Survey Pte Ltd. Ran the company as the Managing Director until end of 2003 where I sold off my shares to my partenrs. From 1 jan 2004 up to End March 2009 I was employed in AIG as their regional Marine Loss Control Engineer and upon leaving the company, I was the Regional Vice President for MLCE South East Asia region.
I joined RSA Insurance on 1st May 2009 as the Specialty Marine Cargo Risk Manager for the Asia & Middle East.
